Description
PNR RailWorks rehabilitated the CN’s mainline track on the Mackenzie, ANY and Foothills Mountain Park subdivisions in northern Alberta.
Scope
PNR RailWorks crews changed out 400,000 linear feet of rail and other track materials on the mainline track. The project required distributing and picking up ties and de-stressing rail.
Unique features
Remote project sites presented a range of challenges, including long on-track travel times, steep grades work areas, and severe winter conditions at the beginning and end of the project. All work was completed with active train operations, which required short work blocks.
